Nomo Nomo - Japanese Snack Bar & Cocktail Lounge

This is an izakaya inspired snack bar and cocktail lounge located on Commercial Drive in Vancouver.

We transformed a compact space into an intimate and sophisticated environment. The project included a full interior renovation with carefully considered spatial planning to accommodate both bar operations and seating for 26 guests, fostering social interaction and experiential dining. We were fully involved in the concept and execution of the interior design, and worked closely with Chef Benedict Lim and team, as well as acted as prime consultant for this project.

Warm walnut accents, dim lighting, and references to the owners favourite anime create the atmosphere. Custom millwork, tactile surfaces, and thoughtfully selected finishes create a modern izakaya feel, while enhancing the enjoyment of small plates and cocktails. The layout and design were carefully orchestrated to complement the food and beverage experience and ensure smooth operational flow.

All millwork, finishes were custom designed by our team. We coordinated selections of furniture and provided specific locations for artwork to pop, adding depth and character to the space. Nomo Nomo celebrates Japanese culinary culture through a modern lens, offering a warm, approachable, and visually striking setting.
